Fuzzy, electric, and wholly handmade.

Boston-based indie rocker cameron lane’s DIY recording style, a scrapbook set to music, makes a natural pair with songs about anxiety, embarrassment, vulnerability, and growing up alongside the internet. Her newest release, “Skateboard” (February 2023), a story of accidental theft and self-deprecation, leans fully into a left-of-center indie rock variation lane terms bug rock: a blend of punchy layered drums and twangy guitars with distortion, bit-crushing, and digital artifacts. Recklessly relatable, startlingly sincere, and with live sets that are just as energetic as they are emotive, cameron lane crafts a sound that is entirely her own.
